Emergency Dentist Cost and Insurance in Tracy, MN

Before you agree to any treatment at our Tracy, Minnesota office, you'll know what it costs. The visit starts with an emergency exam, estimated at no more than $539.47 including imaging, and then one of our dentists explains the treatment and its price. Questions about cost are welcome when you call (507) 555-0142.

The $539.47 figure is an estimated maximum, not a fixed fee. It covers a limited emergency exam, one dental X-ray and a CBCT (3D) scan if the dentist needs one. Your actual charge depends on the imaging you need, and a CBCT scan is not always necessary. Treatment is charged separately and explained before any work starts.

How pricing works, step by step

  1. The emergency exam. A limited exam focused on the problem you came in with.
  2. Imaging. One dental X-ray. If the dentist needs to see a crack, a hidden infection or how a wisdom tooth sits, a CBCT scan (a 3D image) as well.
  3. Diagnosis and price. The dentist tells you what's wrong, what the options are, and what each one costs.
  4. Your decision. Treatment starts only after you agree. If you want time to think, or want to go elsewhere, that's your choice.

What the exam estimate means

The $539.47 is the most we expect the exam and imaging to cost. It's an estimate, not a fixed price, because imaging varies. A CBCT scan is included in that figure, but plenty of patients don't need one, and their visit costs less.

What the figure does not include: treatment. A filling, a root canal, an extraction or a crown is a separate charge, and the price depends on the tooth and how much work it needs. You hear it before anything is done.

Insurance we accept

We're in network with Delta Dental Premier. Please check your card: Delta Dental PPO is a different network, and we're not in it.

With other private dental plans, including Delta Dental PPO, we're out of network. If your plan has out-of-network benefits, we submit the claim to your insurer for you. What your plan pays depends on your plan. We can't promise coverage, but we'll help you understand the claim.

We don't accept Medical Assistance (Minnesota's Medicaid program) or MinnesotaCare.

Ways to pay

  • Cash, check and major credit cards
  • Cherry, Sunbit, Proceed Finance and CareCredit financing, which let you spread a larger bill over time (terms are set by each lender)
  • Our in-house dental savings plan for patients without insurance; ask about it when you call

Why we explain cost first

Dental emergencies are stressful enough without a surprise bill. Minnesota rules require dentists who advertise fees to disclose what's included and what might cost extra, and we'd do it anyway. If you have a budget, tell the dentist. There's often more than one way to treat a tooth, and the options can differ a lot in cost.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the exam estimate higher than a regular checkup?

An emergency exam often needs more imaging than a routine visit, and the estimate includes a CBCT 3D scan in case it's needed. Many visits don't need the scan and cost less. A routine checkup is a different service with a different purpose.

Will my insurance cover the emergency visit?

If you have Delta Dental Premier, the visit is billed in network. For other plans, coverage depends on your plan's out-of-network benefits. We submit the claim when your plan has them.

Do you take Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare?

No, we don't accept Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare. If you have one of those plans, your plan can help you find a participating dentist.

Can I pay over time?

Yes, through Cherry, Sunbit, Proceed Finance or CareCredit, if you're approved by the lender. Each one sets its own terms. Ask at your visit which one may suit you.

Is there a discount for patients without insurance?

Ask about our in-house dental savings plan when you call (507) 555-0142. It's designed for patients without dental insurance. See also the same-day dentist page and our emergency dental FAQ.
